Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 14
(no new oak used here): Bright medium yellow. Aromas of spicy yellow fruits and menthol are a bit muted by SO2. Much more expressive in the mouth, where nectarine and peach flavors are accented by wild herbs and spices. Really spreads out to saturate the palate with nectarine and spices on the long, dusty finish. Lafon noted that his 2012s were bottled with around 12.8% alcohol, with some of them having been lightly chaptalized.

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
